Dan Capron: A Great Run for a Great Big Ten Official
After 20 years, our own Dan Capron has retired as an on-field official for the Big Ten Conference. His final game was the Big Ten Championship on December 7, 2019, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
What a run! Dan has officiated more than 200 Big Ten games and has had many memorable moments, including the Sugar Bowl, the Peach Bowl, the Orange Bowl, two Big Ten championships, and the 2018 National Championship.
As he said in this blog post, “A good official is in charge of the game without being arrogant or haughty” — a good way to describe Dan as a partner at Capron Avgerinos & Heinlen.
Congratulations, Dan, on a distinguished career on the field!
