Illinois Leading Lawyers in Workers’ Compensation

Our founding partners, Nick J. Avgerinos and Daniel Capron have been designated “Leading Lawyers” in Illinois. Fewer than 5% of the state’s lawyers have earned this distinction, awarded through a peer review and comprehensive survey about workers’ compensation lawyers in Illinois. Call us today to see why our colleagues have nominated us for our commitment to injured clients.

What’s Different about Us?

Dan Capron is the only workers’ compensation attorney who is a Big Ten Football Referee. Dan was also the 2012 president of the Big Ten Football Officials’ Association. Opposing attorneys know that Dan is as aggressive in the courtroom as he is on the gridiron.

When You’re Injured, Our Attorneys Are There for You

When you’ve been injured through the fault of a third party, you need great personal attention and care from your attorneys as well as your doctors.

You need to protect your rights. The experience of your legal team—and your attorney’s attitude—counts.

Protecting the Rights of the Injured in Illinois and Iowa

Capron & Avgerinos is the law firm to call when you need knowledgeable and compassionate legal counsel. We have devoted our careers to helping the injured and are committed to providing the quality representation each and every client deserves. Whether you have a workers’ compensation or a personal injury claim, we treat your case with a high level of professionalism, personal service, and integrity.

Our Attorneys Secure Just Compensation for Your Injury

We recognize that an injury presents hardship and anxiety for you and your family. You might be temporarily out of work. Your savings might dwindle. At Capron & Avgerinos, we understand the extreme emotional and financial effects of an injury. That is why our attorneys strive to get you back on the road to recovery as quickly as possible, without compromising your workers’ compensation or personal injury claim.

Because our firm is smaller, we are able to be more responsive in our relationships with our clients. When you call us or walk into our offices, you receive personal attention from our staff and attorneys. We take the time to listen carefully to you, understand your concerns, and explain the right course of action to take. The way we treat our clients ensures continuity in your legal experience:

We Provide the Injured with Full Legal Services

Our attorneys handle a broad spectrum of injury claims that fall into two major categories:

  • Workers’ Compensation Claims -- Workers' compensation is a system of benefits provided by law to workers who have job-related injuries or diseases. Workers are entitled to benefits, regardless of who was at fault for the injury. These laws are administered on a state-by-state basis, so the processes for making a workers’ compensation claim in Illinois or Iowa can differ. Because Capron & Avgerinos’ attorneys have been admitted to the bar in Illinois and Iowa, we represent clients in both states. Over the years, we have represented a wide range of workers in these cases, ranging from truck drivers, mechanics, and plumbers, to flight attendants, office workers, and teachers.
  • Personal Injury Claims - Personal injury claims and lawsuits are legal actions brought by people who are physically or emotionally injured by another person or even an entity, such as a corporation or product manufacturer. If you believe that another party is responsible for an injury to you or a family member, you may be entitled to compensation. Capron & Avgerinos’ experienced personal injury attorneys will meet with you, evaluate your case, and determine the best course of action to take. We represent people who have suffered injuries arising from a variety of accidents, including auto and truck crashes, motorcycle accidents, slips and falls, and scalding.

Our Clients Speak for Themselves

In sum, our aim is straightforward: To secure fair compensation for our injured clients. But don’t just take our word for it. Please review some of our successful cases and videos to see what our clients and other referring attorneys say about our defense of the injured. If you have any questions, please call us for a confidential, no-obligation consultation at (800) 535-4542.

Illinois: A Deadly State for Workers

Each day on the job, an average of nearly 13 workers die—a total of 4,609 workers in the U.S. in 2011. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has released the disturbing information that transportation accidents, assaults, and violent acts were the leading causes of on-the-job fatalities. Illinois is one of the most dangerous states for workers, with 177 fatalities in 2011, 5th behind Texas, California, Pennsylvania, and Florida. If a loved one has been killed a workplace accident, your immediate family is entitled to workers’ compensation benefits, and may be entitled to additional benefits for pain, suffering, and loss of income, if a third party was involved.
